American in Bahamas Bitten by Shark

NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) - A shark bit the leg of an American man who was snorkeling with his wife near the island of Grand Bahama, hospital officials said.
The shark attack Thursday was the second this month on the island, about 120 miles northwest of Nassau, the capital on the main island.
The man was being treated for injuries to his left leg at Rand Memorial Hospital, said Dr. Jerold Forbes. He would not say whether the injuries were life threatening, adding only that the man's leg was not severed.
The hospital did not release the name of the couple involved.
Forbes would not provide further details on the attack.
On Aug. 4, American Krishna Thompson was attacked during a swim off Freeport on the south coast of Grand Bahama, where he and his wife were celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary.
The 36-year-old Wall Street banker from Central Islip, N.Y. had to have his leg amputated at the knee, but has recovered from the injuries
